Portland-based advertising ogres Wieden + Kennedy have managed to push another campaign turd out of their constipated corporate offices for flagship client Nike. W+K's "Become legendary" campaign hawks the eco-friendly Jordan XX3 shoe, Nike's latest addition to their Air Jordan line.
When asked where inspiration for the new TV spots came from, W+k poster child David Kennedy (see old St. Nick on the right) told us he, "really liked that new Will Smith film, I Am Legendary." When told that the new
Will Smith film is in fact titled I Am Legend, Kennedy became confused and irritated and then excused himself from the interview saying, "Sorry, I've really got to tinkle. My prostate is killing me." Straight from the genius' mouth to you. And David, it is about the shoes. It's always about the shoes.
